About Us

Enugu State University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital Parklane, Enugu metamorphosed from the then Nursing Home established in 1930 for the colonial masters to a first class hospital for government officials and elites in the society in 1952.

During the Nigerian civil war of 1967-1970, it was converted to a general hospital and used extensively to treat the wounded.

Gradual and progresive expansion led to establishment of Surgical, Maternity, Theatre, Paediatric facilities in 1985. It was then approved for the training of house officers. It became a specialist hospital in November 2005 and a Teaching Hospital in May 2006.

To develop a teaching hospital of international standard and repute where the mix of health education and healthcare is adequately addressed.

Procedures

Cholecystectomy

This is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. It is a common treatment of symptomatic gallstones and other gallbladder conditions. We have well trained surgeons for this procedure.

Ovarectomy

Removal of one or both ovaries; done for tumors, severe infection, or other ovarian disorders. If one ovary is removed, a woman may continue to menstruate and have children.

Skin grafting

We reconstruct defects on the skin, regardless of the cause of the defect, often used to treat: Extensive wounding or trauma. Burns.

Dialysis

We perform dialysis procedure daily with our state of the art Dialysis machine

Cystolithotomy

The urologic procedure to remove one or more bladder stones. Typically performed for a patient with large or numerous bladder stones or if an endoscopic approach has not been successful

Myomectomy

Myomectomy is the surgical removal of fibroids from the uterus. It allows the uterus to be left in place and, for some women, makes pregnancy more likely than before.

Vaginal Hysterectomy

surgical procedure to remove the uterus through the vagina by detaching the uterus from the ovaries, fallopian tubes and upper vagina

Masectomy

We surgically remove one or both breasts, partially or completely. A mastectomy is usually carried out to treat breast cancer.
